10 Questions with ... Bethanie Shepherd1. How in the world did you even get into radio?
I had the tremendous opportunity to attend College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout Missouri, a work study college in which every student has an on campus workstation. In order to avoid working at the school cafeteria all four years, I applied for the campus radio station and somehow got in. But I never expected to fall absolutely in love with radio! And boy did I!
2. What's one thing you wish you had known about radio when you first started?
Work on controlling your voice. I listen to old breaks I used to make back in college now and wow was I using my head voice. I naturally have a higher pitched voice and I wish I had learned to speak from my diaphragm better when I first began!
3. How has God pulled you out of your comfort zone?
My entire family on both of my parents' sides have never left our home state of Arkansas. Attending an out of state college and ultimately settling two hours away from family all on my own was very out of my comfort zone. But I truly believe that being part on the KWND/KWFC family is exactly where God wants me to be. He keeps opening doors and reminding me that He is always with me!
