1/2 Plus 1/2 Does NOT Equal 2

A lot of morning teams aren't teams at all. They're two people who weren't great as solo hosts who were thrown together as a team. But that's not a good formula. One plus One equals Two. One-half plus one-half does NOT equal two.

Two really good air talents put together can make a good team. Maybe. But trying to hide someone's deficiencies by putting them into a team show just makes for a weak team show.

The best teams are where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. One-half plus one-half can't equal more than one.

So you're better off with just one person who's really good doing the show. If you go back and listen to the legendary Top 40 morning shows, it's startling how few of them were team shows. It's not mandatory to have a team.
