I recently attended a seminar with a client who invited me as his guest. It is a group of small to medium-size business CEOs and owners where they get business coaching. This particular seminar dealt with “Marketing.”
I was curious so I went. A local and respected agency head presented the very basics of marketing to a group of people who weren’t that versed on the subject.
We all did various exercises like defining your target market, naming the needs and wants of people who buy in your industry, and why they buy.
We also had to list things people hate about buying in our industry. Once we completed the list, we then had to discuss it with the person sitting next to us.
What an eye-opener!
Try it. Ask your sales managers to make a list of those same things and discuss. You’ll find, as I did, not only does it shed some light on something you often don’t want to think about, you will also see what is controllable and address it instantly.
