When’s the last time you asked your Traffic Director, receptionist, or production director to sit in on a brainstorming meeting? Whether it’s for a client proposal or a station promotion, is it the same people all the time?
I make it a practice to invite one or two of these folks into meetings like this to see what they have. And trust me, you’ll be surprised.
These people work at your station because they want to be a part of that and love to get outside THEIR box. Often, they are not asked or invited. They will also appreciate that you invited them and it becomes a terrific motivator.
We often say “hands in the middle,” meaning we’re all a team, we all own it, and we all have the power to make things better.
This is an easy way. Give it a shot. I think you will discover talents in your building that you have not yet tapped into.
Have a good weekend.
