Have an opinion? Add your comment below. My name is Joe GM. 10 Years ago I had 1 AM & 1 FM station. Now I'm running a "cluster" of stations for a really big company...

So many of us are focused on establishing and maintaining an online relationship with our audience. Do we have the same focus for our other customers ... our clients?
There are so many tools to help you manage this including sales management software, something as simple as ACT, or just maintaining updates in our Outlook contacts and calendar.
Do the same as you would for your listeners:
- Know and recognize their birthdays
- Keep them updated on station happenings (newsletters, e-mail updates)
- Look for interesting articles on THEIR business and send them the link or the story with a hand-written note...it lets them know you care
- Add notes into your Outlook or sales database that might include; their kids, vacation plans, their birthday or anniversary, hobbies and interests
Don't let this replace the most valuable contact, face-to-face, but it's a great way to stay in front of key partners in between calls.
You know how to do it. Just do it and follow-up on the information you have.
