Strange. Just three months ago one of my stations did a major push for automotive and honestly, we didn't get very far. Most of them were still crying the blues -- cars not moving, service business is down, low inventory, you name it.
Last week, we tried it again and got an entirely different result.
The goal was simple.
Over the course of a month, deliver bagels to one auto dealership each morning
Ask for the decision-maker ... usually the GM, if not, the GSM.
Tell them you've heard business was improving ... have the facts at hand specific to the dealer's brand.
Tell them you and your team have come up with a great idea and ask for a time to come back and present that idea.
So far, we are six for six in setting follow-up appointments. Give it a shot.
