It's been a busy summer, and we still have 5 weeks to go! How will you handle all the changes as the general manager? The new radio world we are moving towards will require a complete rethink from what we observed just five years ago. it's ok to be scared, but ideas, taking chances, listening to your audience, and not being afraid to fail will go a long way to surviving the changes. The time for change is not just a campaign slogan, it's here today. Have a great weekend!

It's been a busy summer Part 4. The new I-Phone is here. Have you seen/tried/own one? No? It may be a good idea to go on line and check it out. http://www.apple.com/iphone A friend of mine was listening to his favorite radio station.....1,200 miles away....in his car.....via blue tooth. How is your streaming program? If given the choice, will listeners choose a station on line with 15 spots an hour or one of the new on line commercial free stations. I'm thinking of a new revenue model that is different from the current stop set model. I'm afraid it has to be different in the future.

It's been a busy summer Part 3. The country's two satellite radio providers are about to merge. What does this mean to you? Trying to figure that out is like trying to figure the next move of the central government of Beijing. You can't control what they do; only what you do. If you manage the best staff, talent, and ideas, it really doesn't matter. Just keep your standards high and the hallway BS low, do your job, and make great radio.

It's been a busy summer Part 2. The country's largest radio company is about to change hands. What does this mean if you work for them? Trying to figure that out is like trying to figure the next move of the central government of Beijing. You can't control what they do; only what you do. If you manage the best staff, talent, and ideas, it really doesn't matter. Just keep your standards high and the hallway BS low, do your job, and make great radio. Tomorrow, the Satellite merger and what it means to you?

It's been a busy summer Part 1. The country's largest radio company is about to change hands. What does this mean if you are across the street? Trying to figure that out is like trying to figure the next move of the central government of Beijing. You can't control what they do; only what you do. If you manage the best staff, talent, and ideas, it really doesn't matter. Just keep your standards high and the hallway BS low, do your job, and make great radio. Tomorrow, what if you work for the country's largest radio company?
