HAPPY 4th of JULY!
Thursday 7/3, 2008
Before everyone hits the road for the long weekend, make sure your promotions are all lined up and ready. Are the vans gassed and clean? Prizes accounted for? Schedule for the part-timers set? One more note: Make sure the weekend staff know the rules regarding drinking. Now is the time to make sure you don't get weekend calls. Have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend!

How are those summer promotions going? Did you take my advice and do client tie-ins with the soda and beer companies? If you missed your opportunity, now is the time to develop those relationships so you don't get left out in the cold for next summer. A holiday weekend is loaded with beverage promotions. Make sure you get your share.

Are you at 85% of budget going into July? Due to the soft 1st half of the year you probably have some ground to make up to make your year. Check forecast and pending, based on historical closing percentage on pending. Do you have enough in the funnel to hit your budget, or are you going to fail before the month really gets started?

The Fall of 2008 promises to be a big political quarter. Make sure your lowest unit rates are in order. (Poetry intentional.) Remember the 45- and 60-day lowest unit rate window that is back-timed up to the election.
