Can you believe it's June already? The year is almost half over. Perhaps it's a good time to do a mid-year review with each of your department heads. Are you pleased with everyone's performance? Now is the time to address the weaknesses. Have a great weekend!

There are only a few weeks left in the Spring book. It's a good time to call a PD meeting and make sure you go out with the best sounding stations you can put on the air. Many in the programming department tend to tire towards the end of the book. Keep them focused for a few more weeks.

All the tornadoes and bad weather in the Midwest this past weekend once again reminds us to make sure you are prepared if it would happen to you. There is nothing more frustrating than having a local emergency and you are running regular format. You don't need a full news department to cover the event and serve the community in an emergency.

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. It's a good day to catch up on the weekend's activities -- not just of your cluster, but those of your competitors. Were you "out there" to take advantage of the visibility the summer weekend provides? If you feel your competition was more visible ... they probably were.
