I hope you are continuing to stay close to your political and issue advertising clients. There's a lot of campaigning going on now for bills both in Congress and at the State level, and in anticipation of the off-year elections next fall. The issues and next year's election are more important to each party than they have been in many years -- and I don't see it ending any time soon. You absolutely MUST be well-connected to your local politicians and especially local activist groups. Your national rep firm needs to farm all its connections to try to find issue advertising.
The conservatives are smelling blood in the water and the press is angry over the President's attempts to freeze out one network. The old idea of political advertising seasons is probably not solid this time.
