A good friend of mine and longtime radio GM -- who most of you probably know -- said something to me, totally in passing, at a recent industry gathering where lots of people were talking about "the basics."

He said, "It's interesting when you mention basics to people that they tend to think it is the other other guys who are not doing them.?"

I haven't been able to get that out of my head since he said it. And you know what, he's right. I want you to think about that today. Are YOU the OTHER GUY?
