Here's a mid-month pacing check. Are you going to make January? If not, now is the time for action. Missing the first month of the year does NOT bode well for 2007. Try to make it. It's a mental goal that should be accomplished. (more on this next week).

This is a good day to review the public file. Legal has a check list of everything that is to be in there. Make sure it's up to date. It should be reviewed quarterly. Put it on your calendar.

It's not too early to be thinking about the spring book. Start formulating your plans now. Music testing, TV creative, direct mail, and the web site should all look their best. The book starts in Sixty days.

Automotive is very slow. Is there an idea to "move the metal" for the beleaguered car dealers? Time for a brainstorm with the air staff. (try it for a change. There should be very creative people on staff.) Reward the best idea. (or commission) I'll start, The North American Auto Show is this week. Is there a five part series on the new models introduced there?

If you are in the VERY WARM East with hurting ski resorts, design a package for the return of winter. If you are West, perhaps there is a promotion that involves bringing skiers from the warm East. This unusual weather should present an opportunity for your cluster.
