Fall book is right around the corner and you have no marketing dollars. Have you held your PD's responsible for promoting their brand during this book? Hint....ask the sales managers if they can leverage some Miller, Coors or Budweiser promotions. The beer companies are supplying radio stations with great giveaways such as motorcycles, boats and ATV's for the summer and this could be the way to impact your Fall revenue and ratings at the same time.

Have you looked at the public file lately? You never know when the FCC is going to surprise you with a visit. Take 20 minutes to go over your public file checklist and make sure all of your files are complete and updated. Call your companies Director of Regulatory Compliance if you have any questions. Remember, it's your primary job to protect the license.

You did a Listener Appreciation Concert on July 4th Weekend. Have you checked your event pro-forma against the actual revenue and expenses? Remember, no surprises at the end of the month that could have a negative impact on your BCF.

I wouldn't spend too much more time on July revenue, the month is over, time to focus on August. By the end of the week you need to be at 85% of July budget to hit your number. Why 85% instead of 80%...there has been a disturbing trend of more national cancellations and late month movements into the next month.
It's not too early to start working "Back to School" and Fall Political. Don't get caught hearing your potential revenue across the street. Plan for it now!

The Spring book is out, your competition from across the street just put out a propaganda piece against your Rock station that shows you have had 4 down trends in a row. You were the format leader until they flipped and beat you in the Winter book. Along with a 300 GRP per week TV campaign, running commercial free, no jocks and very creative imaging they are now positioning themselves as the format leader. The sales department is panicking, cutting rate as fast as the avails come out. Are you executing the plan you put together when they initially launched against you or are you simply reacting?
