Earlier this week we discussed maximizing your own cume for station and client promotion. For you music stations.....
Have a discussion today with your PD about rotations and ask her to break it out for you. Powers/Secondaries/Tertiaries or whatever system she uses. Then ask about the projected rotations of those categories.
Pay particular attention to the Powers and Power Gold. How many times are those songs rotating. Then run a reach and frequency like you would for an agency placing a buy.
Are the powers rotating enough to build familiarity and be heard by more than just your P1's? R & F report will tell you exactly. Are they getting even daypart spread? (Ask for a song history report from the last week). Are the projected rotations matching the actual rotations? These are very good questions that she should be able to answer quickly and will help you and her better understand the theory and application of impactful schedules and rotations.
