I read a story on www.allaccess.com on Friday about how Greater Media Sports station WPEN is staging a tug-of-war between fans and detractors of former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb's return to Philly as a Redskin that took place yesterday.

Sadly, seizing topical opportunities and coming up with a creative idea that are uniquely local have become more and more rare. I know we could blame staffing, voicetracking, whatever, but I call it lazy.

I often talk about programming our radio stations every day and that means seizing the moment and thinking about opportunity.
