I saw a great piece online the other day about businesses using social media to connect with customers -- and the title was, get this, “Social Media - Why They Are Not That Into You.”
Often when calling on businesses, a discussion goes to digital and social media. I would share this with advertisers who are there, but we all know aren’t doing it right.
For example, in this article it cited a study by the IBM Institute for Business Value, where they asked consumers why they interact with business using social media -- and conversely asked businesses why they think consumers follow then via social media.
The top two for consumers are: 1) discounts, and 2) ability to purchase.
The bottom two for businesses are the same ... the top two for businesses are: 1) learn about new products, and 2) general information. What a dis-connect!
