Pandora Adds Comedy

Pandora, the wildly successful Internet radio service has added comedy to its repertoire. The service is in the process of adding over 10,000 comedy clips from over 700 comedians which will allow users to customize their comedy experience, just like the music experience. Users can enter the name of individual comedians, types of comedy or even specific jokes to help Pandora build a personalized comedy channel.

Pandora will take the same “genomic” approach to coding all of the comedy routines for specific characteristics to make the customized channels. The comedy will come from a broad range of comedians, from W.C. Fields to new, cutting edge comics. Today’s comedians, and others in the comedy business, see this as a great opportunity for people to discover new talent.
