More on Nielsen's Connected Device Study

It should come as no surprise that tablet devices are eating into the usage of laptops, desktop computers, eReaders and other devices. But the results of Nielsen’s study on connected devices shows a couple of interesting patterns:

• Tablets are more personal than the “personal computer” - 43% of tablet users are the only users for their device. This runs counter to the concept of the “family POC,” where the entire household shares the same machine
• Replacing the PC - 77% of tablet users use the device fo things that they used to use a PC or laptop for.
• The top reasons for using a tablet instead of another device are:

1.      Easy to take with you
2.      Ease of use
3.      Fast start/turn off
