Meet Hitch Radio

Hitch Radio soft launched a few days ago. Hitch allows beta users to check out the platform. Hitch allows users to search and stream thousands of terrestrial broadcasts from around the world. This includes not only artist and song search, but talk, news, and sports content. Users can search by station, artist or song, as well as keyword. Each search pulls up a list of options and the user can begin streaming the station they select until they want to “hitch” a new ride on another station.

While these features are impressive, there is an entire social networking element to Hitch that makes it stand out among other streaming sites. Friends can hitch rides on each other’s streams, publish to social networking accounts, and approve/disapprove of their friends as radio DJs and navigators via comments. While Hitch fine tunes all of these aspects, they are allowing users to create accounts, play around with the site and its features, and offer feedback and criticism before the full HitchRadio.com is rolled out later this summer.
