Introducing the Google Wallet

Recently we discussed NFC (Near Field Communications) technology, by which mobile users can pay for items with a swipe of their mobile devices. Already widely deployed in other countries, Google is aiming to make a big splash in the US with its Google Wallet. Google is partnering with Citi, MasterCard, First Data and Sprint on the initial launch. Initially, the app will be compatible with the Nexus S 4G phone on Sprint. The Google Wallet app will allow users to store credit cards, affinity cards, gift cards and more all in one place. Eventually, they plan to add more features such as boarding passes, tickets and keys.
