Flurry, a mobile analytics company, says that consumers are spending more time each day with apps than they are on the web. Flurry conducted the study using its own mobile data and compared it with public web information from ComScore and Alexa. In fact, Flurry has been tracking this information for a year. Their data shows that people have roughly doubled their time spent in apps, while web usage has gone up, too, but not enough to compensate for the dramatic rise in app usage.
So what do the users spend their time on the most? In mobile apps, on average, roughly half the time is spent playing games, with social networking accounting for about 1/3 of total time. On the web, Facebook is the major force, accounting for roughly 14 minutes of the average 74 that users spend each day.
