The Nielsen Company, famous for its data-gathering services across multiple industries, is trying to come up with an online equivalent of its industry-standard TV ratings. Campaign Ratings is Nielsen's newest product, designed to give an online metric that compares to Gross Ratings Point (GRP) in TV. Just before its August 15th launch, Nielsen announced that Facebook will be a part of the system. Observers of the advertising industry will be watching closely to see if this means more dollars or higher rates, or both for the online industry.
