Introducing Turntable.fm

Turntable.fm is the hottest new music service you’ve never tried. Or maybe, like us, you have had a chance to try it out. Turntable is still in beta, but if you have a Facebook friend who’s already a part of it, you can get an invite too. Turntable, or TT as users refer to it, is a website filled with different music-themed rooms: Alternative 90s Rock, Indie Electro/Dance, Hip Hop (West Coast/East Coast/Old School Only). Think of it as kinda like AOL chat rooms of the late 90s meets Pandora.

Turntable has created a platform that serves both as a music discovery tool as well as a “cool tool.” People like to show off their music taste and their “in the know”-ness as much as they like to discover new music. While lots of sites allows you to discover new music, or even share finds and playlists, none have the immediate gratification of watching avatars start dancing to your song and literally watching your cool points rise as you play your picks.
