With three quarters of a billion users worldwide, Facebook is arguably the world’s largest advertising platform, so SocialCode and Buddy Media have done an analysis of the behavior of Facebook users and ads. Here are the key findings from the study:
· Older users are more likely to click on ads
· Younger users are more likely to “Like” them
· Women are more likely to click on an ad than men are
Paidcontent.org also notes that eMarketer is projecting that Facebook will garner 17.7% share of the US display ad market in 2011 (up from 12.2% last year). That would put Facebook’s display ad revenue at $12.33 billion for this year. -
