Will Cord Cutting Lead to A La Carte?

Reuters recently reported that cable and satellite operators are considering reversing their opposition to a la carte programming. This would mean customers could choose exactly which channels they want to pay for, rather than having to purchase the packages offered by the service they subscribe to.

Consequently, cable operators keep raising subscription prices. But with the number of subscribers to pay TV services dropping, the operators are now considering shifting gears and supporting a la carte as a way to retain customers, who have other options now online and on mobile. So far, none of the cable operators have come out publicly in favor of a la carte - yet.
