From Secret Handshake to Secret Hand Signal

TechCrunch is reporting on a team of researchers in Taiwan who’ve developed a new way of opening locks using hand gestures. The lock comes with a special chip that can record and detect hand gestures in 3 dimensions. Each user can record his/her unique gesture which the lock’s detector can interpret. Developer Tai Yao-Pin won a Gold Award for this invention. According to Yao-Pin, there are a number of companies interested in using the technology for commercial applications.
