Sirius' New Receivers

Sirius Satellite Radio has big plans for the next few months. Behind the scenes, the company is trying to negotiate new royalty rates with music rights holders. From the customers’ point of view, in addition to a price increase, slated for the first of the year, Sirius will be rolling out some new channels and new receivers. The new Lynx receiver includes a host of new features that the company refers to as “satellite radio 2.0.” Lynx will add some key new functionality for users, including these:

• Receiving 20 new channels being rolled out by Sirius
• Flexibility to serve as a satellite radio in the car, or a streaming receiver outside of it
• Adding pause, rewind and time-shifting features
