Certain artists, including high profile acts like Adele, The Black Keys, and Coldplay, have withheld their new albums (at least for now) from streaming services like Spotify, citing that the revenue generated from streaming as opposed to downloading is miniscule. Rob Wells, Universal Music's Global Digital President, explains that Universal has done in-depth research in various genres surrounding this assumption made by artists and labels, and that it is ultimately not true.
