Facebook Skeptics

On the eve of Facebook's IPO, CNBC and the AP commissioned a study on American's view of Facebook. Almost half of those surveyed think that Facebook is a passing fad. That may seem preposterous to many people, especially with Facebook quickly approaching 1 billion users. But it doesn't take long to come up with a list of other once powerful sites and companies that have recently gone under - or that are a former shell of themselves. MySpace, Kodak and every company that ever made buggy whips come to mind. According to this survey, many people are expressing skepticism of Facebook's long-term dominance.
