Grooveshark, the under-the-radar music streaming service, introduced Beluga on Tuesday, a new search tool that can pull listener data on any artist in real time. Grooveshark has a network of 20million users around the world streaming (for free) music from their 15 million tracks. They have now opened this data to the world, where anyone can search for an artist and pull up information on who is listening, where they live, what they buy, etc. The move goes along with Grooveshark's approach to the industry which they call "open music" and gives the company some needed points with labels, management, etc. More info on Mashable.
