Beyonce Confirms Superbowl Performance

This week Beyonce confirmed via Tumblr that she will be performing during the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show on Feb. 3, 2013. According to Mashable, less than 24 hours after the announcement the Facebook link to her Tumblr had already gotten over 40,000 Likes, 2,000 shares and 1,000 comments. Looks like the NFL is continuing to become more comfortable with the idea of using contemporary acts as featured halftime performers. In the six years following the infamous Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake wardrobe malfunction in 2004, the NFL used only veteran musical acts, ranging from Paul McCartney to Prince. Starting in 2011, the NFL dipped a cleated toe back into the contemporary world with the Black Eyed Peas.
