The NY Times posted an interesting article this week on the evolution of the mobile ad. They pointed out that advertisers more than tripled the amount spent on mobile advertising last year, rounding out at around $2.6 billion. And while that amount is still less than 2% of total advertising money spent over all, it still shows some pretty significant growth. Couple that with the continued emergence of much more innovative and engaging ad techniques, and you've got what looks like a pretty promising future for the mobile advertising space.
