Troy Carter Speaks at Wired 2012

Troy Carter, Lady Gaga's manager, gave an interview at Wired 2012 last week, where he touched on important topics like the state of the industry, artist-fan relationships, and piracy. He went into depth on Gaga's development and her rise and success in the social media world. Carter stressed that artists don't need a lot of money or tech expertise to connect effectively with their fans. Speaking about free services like Youtube, Twitter, and Facebook, Carter emphatically stated, "We're living in a time where it's important to understand the fan, understand the community as a whole. Being able to communicate directly with that fan... We're living in a time where it shouldn't be anybody in between that relationship." Watch the full interview here.
