More on Twitter's Vine App

Twitter has launched an app called Vine that some are calling "The Instagram of Twitter." Users can record their own video and create 6-second gifs that they can post to Vine. One sign of Vine's instant popularity, as it has been with so many other hot new video services, is that porn has become an issue. In fact, CNN chimed in with an article entitled, Does Vine Have A Porn Problem? Some of the most prominent videos were apparently hard core pornography, including one that briefly made it to the Editor's Choice list.

Beyond the porn issues, others are questioning Vine's value in general. Some are saying that Vine is just a distraction and that the novelty that will wear off quickly. But then again, that's what many said about Twitter for the first couple of years after it launched.
