YouTube to Hold Music Awards Show

It was announced this week that YouTube will be launching its very own music awards show. The premiere event has confirmed performances from big names like Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, and Eminem, and has tapped Spike Jonze as creative director. According to Billboard, the show's 6 award categories will be announced this month in advance of the event, which is scheduled to take place on November 3rd at Pier 36 in NY. YouTube's VP of marketing, Danielle Tiedt, has emphasized that the company's "main goal is to not just do another award show. We want to do something special."
