Amazon Reveals Future Plans for Delivery Drones

Amazon made headlines this week when CEO Jeff Bezos revealed on 60 Minutes that his company is testing out robot delivery drones, which may hit the skies as early as 2015. The drones would likely only be able to deliver to customers in urban areas (who are within 10 miles of a fulfillment center), and will aim to deliver small packages within 30 minutes. Despite the ambitious 2015 timeline, Bezos made sure to make it clear that these drones are still in very early stages of development, and are pending FAA approval.
