It is being rumored that YouTube will debut Low-Bandwidth 4K (a reference resolution of 4096 x 3072) streaming at CES this week. This would mean that users may soon be able stream high resolution 4K videos while using a fraction of the bandwidth normally required to support the format. Many content creators have yet to jump on 4K bandwagon, but if YouTube were able to support these kinds of videos at a lower bandwidth, it would certainly push the adaptation of the technology along.
