Streaming Drives Increase in Recorded Music Revenue in Sweden

Billboard reported this week that last year in Sweden, which is a country know for being one of the early adopters of the streaming movement, streaming growth drove a 5% increase in recorded music revenue. This is important because it means that streaming was able to actually compensate for declines in purchased music. And according to the report, "although revenue is 40% below the peak in 2000, 2013 was the third straight year of growth and revenue is up 27% over the last five years." Read the full story here.
