An interesting study was recently done by Piper Jaffray on the "spending habits, fashion trends, and brand and media habits of teens with an average age of 16.4. Among the trends that emerged in the report: male spending is up while female spending is down, teens are spending more on experiences over items worn, and the observation that the influence of friends and Internet combined in social media environments to drive online shopping.
