Rdio to Launch Free, Ad-Supported Service

Rdio investors revealed this week that the subscription-only streaming service is planning on launching a free, ad-supported version later this year. The free version will also have additional non-music content supplied by part-owner Cumulus, which will include segments from Cumulus morning shows and other content from radio network Westwood One. According to Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey "Rdio will finally share user numbers once that new service is launched in the back half of the year."
