Mobile Apps vs. The Web

This week the Internet was abuzz with several different outlets releasing arguments both for and against the notion that "mobile apps are killing the web". Those in support of the claim say that the use of task-based apps now dominates web browser use, while those against it say argue that supporters "make a common mistake by implying that the size of the web pie is finite." Gigaom released an excellent article on the matter, which explores both sides of the argument and highlights the complicated nature of the claim itself.
