YouTube Subscription Service Struggles

It was reported this week that YouTube's upcoming paid subscription service is having trouble signing up content partners. According to sources at publishers and MCNs, YouTube has approached them hoping to sign a "subscription offerings amendment", which would allow YouTube to take their content and make it available only through their paid subscription service. One of the main issues that content providers had with the amendment was the fact that it would prevent them from attempting to "diversify their revenue streams by posting content to other video platforms."
