Google Confirms Wireless Carrier Ambitions

Google confirmed this week that it plans to become a wireless carrier, and offer talk and data plans to customers. According to senior VP Sundar Pichai, the company has already begun to work on small scale wireless service, and "will become a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), which means it could buy 'wholesale access' from Sprint and T-Mobile networks and then sell cellular plans to its own customers."
