Verizon's New Pay TV Pitch

Verizon made another stride towards unbundling today when they announced that their FIOS TV service will now be offering a "skinny bundle" of TV channels that they will be able to "augment" with other packages of themed channels like sports. These packages could then be swapped in or out from the customer's core plan on a monthly basis. According to ReCode, the most interesting part if the new Verizon offering is "that Verizon has been able to convince some programmers to let them carve up their bundles, which have been the foundation of their business models for years."
