Google became a mobile carrier this week -- as it officially unveiled its plan to offer wireless services to owners of its Nexus 6 smartphone. An early invite program launched on Wednesday for what Google is calling "Project Fi", which will require users to activate by inserting a special SIM card into their Nexus 6 devices. "Project Fi" is unique as a wireless plan because it will charge users "only for the data they use rather than hit them with a flat monthly fee that comes with a preset amount of data. If you fail to use all the data you've paid for, Google will refund you the difference." Read more about Project Fi and Google's move into the wireless carrier space here.
