Pandora Acquires Next Big Sound

Pandora’s acquisition of Next Big Sound was announced this week, with the streaming music app grabbing up the music analytics company for an undisclosed amount. Next Big Sound’s analytical capabilities will be used in large part to support and add additional analysis to Pandora’s Artist Marketing Platform, which provides artists with information on streams of their recordings. Sources also report that Pandora will use Next Big Sound’s analytics to help “brands choose artists with which to partner and analyze the results.” Read more about the Pandora’s plans for Next Big Sound here.
