E3 Allows Fans For the First Time

For the first time ever, E3's much talked about video game convention (which took place in Los Angeles last week) allowed fans in to take part in the three day expo. This is a reflection of the convention's evolution from "a sales event to more of a public relations extravaganza — highlighted by theatric announcements of new games." The inclusion of fans (hand selected by exhibitors) @ the convention is seen as a huge opportunity to spread the word and generate more buzz about new products, launches etc. by harnessing the social media power of the over 48,000 attendees.
