This week Comcast and EA announced plans to launch a streaming game service, which would be delivered to Comcast subscribers via the web. According to Recode, the games will only work with Comcast's X-1 set-top boxes, and aren't meant to replace gaming consoles. "The emphasis here is on casual games that people can play using a phone or tablet as a controller, and without the computing requirements of a heavy-duty game console." No word on how Comcast plans to price the new service, but they do plan to count data used while playing the games into customer's data plans. Read more on Comcast/EA's new gaming service here.
