Snapchat Starts Charging Users

This week Snapchat started charging users for the first time ever. The popular messaging app rolled out a feature today that will allow users to make their favorite messages reappear for 99 cents (up to 3 messages per charge). Snapchat has over 100 million daily users -- so if the feature proves to be successful it could be a significant source of revenue for the company. According to the Wall Street Journal, "The service could also begin generating money for Apple, which normally takes a 30% cut of in-app purchases."
