T-Mobile announced this week that they will no longer charge customers for data used while streaming video from Netflix, Hulu, HBO and about 20 additional video apps. T-Mobile is working with the media companies to optimize their apps in order to avoid overwhelming their network by using video streams in 480p resolution, which are about 3 times more efficient in data usage. According to the LA Times, "The move is meant to satisfy growing demand for mobile video while stemming the rise in penalties for going over data caps."
